WAY OF THE CROSS FOR PRIESTS

WAY OF THE CROSS FOR PRIESTS

Contemplation of the Road of the Cross – 1 hour

BEGINNING OF THE ROAD OF THE CROSS

Lord Jesus:  The priestly vocation is the vocation to participate in My mission, My Sacrifice of the Passion and the death on the cross, and in My merits. The anointing received by the priest is a duplication of the anointing I received from the Father. On behalf of My Father, I impart it to those whom I will choose to continue My mission of the salvation of the world. The contemplation of My Passion is a very important part of the priestly life, so the priest might consciously celebrate the Sacrifice of the Holy Mass and be aware of how much each sin costs Me. I want every priest to be a great enemy of sin in all its forms, to recognize it in time, and to fight it with the power flowing from My Passion and Resurrection. The Way of the Cross is an image of these torments, which I suffer because of human sins, among which the most painful for Me are those inflicted to Me by priestly souls, who are the most beloved and privileged by Me.

So consider whether you accept your sin or are you rather fighting it by all means? Do you ask Me to give you the grace of a life without sin, so that I would not be wounded, beaten, nailed to the cross and killed by you? Thus, My son, always recite this Way of the Cross for your sins, asking Me to grant you the grace of holiness.

Station I

LORD JESUS IS CONDEMNED TO DEATH

Way of the Cross - Station 1

We adore You, O Christ and we bless You, because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

Lord Jesus:  I stand before Pilat, although I am innocent. Those, whom I have chosen before the ages and established as the elect over My people as far back as through Moses and Aaron, accuse Me. And behold, their richly endowed hearts turn against Me. When you accuse Me because of your disappointments, failures, falls or persecutions, I humbly stand before you, My son, and I listen to your unjust accusations in silence. I do not open My lips for My defense. No one is interested in My defense. I am a Victim then and I am a Victim now. Acerbic and painful words fall from the lips of My chosen Sons.  Priests reluctantly admit their mistakes. They rarely say: “I was wrong and You were right”. They rarely ask what I do not like about them. Instead, they demand signs and proofs of immediate help in every matter; as if by choosing them for the highest honors, I owned them captivity and service for the fact that they answered “Yes”.

See, My son, how misunderstood I am. How infinitely lonely in My perfect and magnanimous works. How few understand Me and appreciate what I am doing for you. If you want to ease Me in this first suffering of My Way of the Cross, stand beside Me and trust Me. Stop accusing Me and prodding Me with your words full of pretense, but defend Me with all your strength. Defend Me against sin, against loneliness, and against yourself. Always stand by My side and defend Me, because you know in the depths of your heart that I am innocent, and I am always accused by Satan.

Our Father …
Hail Mary …
Glory be …
Have mercy on us, O Lord.
Have mercy on us.

Station II

LORD JESUS TAKES THE CROSS ON HIS SHOULDERS

Way of the Cross - Station 2

We adore You, O Christ and we bless You, because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

Lord Jesus:  The acceptation of the vocation means the acceptation of the cross. Remember who I am. I am the Savior of the world who redeemed mankind through the cross. I have called you to continue My work on Earth and to pour out My merits on souls. You agreed to follow Me, and now you are renouncing the cross? You renounce work without pay, celibacy, a life of mortification, a life of prayer? How do you want to continue My work without the cross? Instead of it, you choose pleasures, comfort, and entertainment, which the world gives you. I am giving you the cross, but in it, I contain the power of My love and care. You receive strength and consolation of the heart, which the other things will not give you. They will devastate your heart; make it shallow and compromise it. You will regress in development because of your sins, and you will be less and less able to continue My mission, and by the same token to fulfill your calling.

By taking the cross on My shoulders, I also took you with your priestly cross, so you would never have to carry it alone. The priest is never alone unless he throws Me out of his life through sin. Then, I must take away My protection and My blessing from him. However, as long as there is not any idol before Me, I will carry his cross together with him.

Our Father …
Hail Mary …
Glory be …
Have mercy on us, O Lord.
Have mercy on us.

Station III

LORD JESUS FALLS FOR THE FIRST TIME

Way of the Cross - Station 3

We adore You, O Christ and we bless You, because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

Lord Jesus:  The next station is a fall. How much priestly falls hurt Me. All human sins do not hurt Me much as yours do, priest. My Heart has given itself to priests and in them, I am well pleased. Their betrayals cost Me My life and I still cannot heal the wound of My Heart, because again, I am betrayed and wounded anew.

I fell for the first time because the thought of all these sufferings, which would come on My Heart, paralyzed Me with pain. Is it worth it to suffer and love so much, meaning so little to those I have chosen? Will they, like Me on My way of the cross, fight with all their might to hold the cross in their hands? Will temptation prevail in their hearts and they will forsake the cross, and Me together with it? I was left alone with My cross and hence I fell. I had no one to lean on. I am surrounded by egoists who sell My love for a handful of sinful consolations. However, I rise up in order to plead for strength for you. Without My grace, no one is capable of conversion and faithfulness. So I am pleading for this grace for you as I rise up, because the faith that love will win in your heart is My strength, thanks to which I rise up. Take My strength from this station, because I obtained it then for you.

Our Father …
Hail Mary …
Glory be …
Have mercy on us, O Lord.
Have mercy on us.

Station IV

LORD JESUS MEETS HIS MOTHER

Way of the Cross - Station 4

We adore You, O Christ and we bless You, because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

Lord Jesus:  The mother of priests comes on My Way of the Cross to take over part of My pain. Her most faithful Heart comprehends My suffering. I entrust this burden to Her. I give Her My chosen ones, so that She may carry their weakness with Me. I accept this suffering so that I can go on. From now on, She will co-suffer with My Heart for the sin of every priest. From now on, She will weep over everyone, whom She will not be able to guard for Me. Every priestly fall will pierce Her with a sword, because every priestly fall is the death of Her son. Her son – a priest, and Her Son – God.

The sacrifice of Mary, taking part in the sacrifice of the priest, obtains graces for My sons. I dedicated to Her My Heart in order to save priestly hearts. Only hearts devoted to My Mother will remain pure and faithful. If the heart of the priest will not belong to Mary, the devil will send another woman to him, whom he will prepare in his own image and likeness, as the opposite of Mary, to take away the priestly heart from Me. So alleviate My pain and give forever your priestly heart to Mary, so that it may become like Her Heart. With Her help, remain faithful to Me and you will make Me happy, and you will not waste My Passion in your life and in your calling.

Mary, Mother of God, receive my priestly heart as it is today. I give it to You forever as Your sole property. Dispose of it according to Your will. Make it like Your Heart, so that it would be faithful, pure, prudent and brave, even if it were to cost me a lot. Do with it what you have to do, so that I may be the joy and the consolation of Your Son. Amen.

Our Father …
Hail Mary …
Glory be …
Have mercy on us, O Lord.
Have mercy on us.

Station V

SIMON THE CYRENIAN IS HELPING JESUS TO CARRY THE CROSS

Way of the Cross - Station 5

We adore You, O Christ and we bless You, because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

Lord Jesus: A faithful priest, a priest devoted to Me, is an invaluable treasure, a consolation for which I am looking for in vain among the onlookers. The pain of the past stations was so great that I will not manage to carry it anymore. My Mother obtains for Me the grace of the Cyrenean. He takes this heavy burden from Me, forced by Her prayers.

Just as without the Cyrenean, I could not continue My way of the cross; so without priests, I cannot continue My redemptive work. I need help in carrying this immensity of human sins and in making satisfaction for them.

Priest, although My cross weighs heavily on you, and My suffering frightens you and fills you with disgust, be close to Me and do not abandon our cross. If only you will be close to Me, you will soon receive the grace you need to persevere, to understand, and to accept your cross. Like Simon, you will open your eyes to the divine reality and see your calling to it. Today, I am calling precisely on you for help. Do not excuse yourself, so I would not have to force you by a serious illness or threat. Follow Me at My first call and help Me to get to the Golgotha, because there I will also redeem your soul and I will also pay off your debt. I promise you that you will receive the strength and the desire to carry this cross, as Simon received it. I know how to thank. I know how to be grateful. Risk everything to receive My gratitude.

Our Father …
Hail Mary …
Glory be …
Have mercy on us, O Lord.
Have mercy on us.

Station VI

VERONICA WIPES THE FACE OF LORD JESUS

Way of the Cross - Station 6

We adore You, O Christ and we bless You, because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

Have mercy on people who suffer. When looking at them try to see the face of the Lord Jesus. When you see suffering as Gods sanctifying grace for souls, you learn to cherish and in some sense to love it. People who suffer are elected by God and have a specific mission. By showing them love, you perform a noble deed of Veronica towards Jesus, and on your heart, I leave a reflection of the suffering face of Jesus. The more love and compassion is in you the more precious is the relic that your heart becomes.

Our Father …
Hail Mary …
Glory be …
Have mercy on us, O Lord.
Have mercy on us.

Station VII

LORD JESUS FALLS FOR THE SECOND TIME

Way of the Cross - Station 7

We adore You, O Christ and we bless You, because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

You just got back to your feet and you fall again. Focus your sight on Jesus. Do not feel sorry for your selves. Try to rise with all your strength, but most of all with the strength of prayer. It is the spirit that lifts the body and not the other way around.  In the moments when you fall prey with the same determination as Jesus when he raised again after his fall. Do not let anything prevent you from taking another step. Do not waste any moments dwelling on your falls. Arise again immediately.

Our Father …
Hail Mary …
Glory be …
Have mercy on us, O Lord.
Have mercy on us.

Station VIII

JESUS COMFORTS THE CRYING WOMEN OF JERUSALEM

Way of the Cross - Station 8

We adore You, O Christ and we bless You, because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

See how Jesus walks among the people who surround Him. He stops next to everyone who has even an ounce of good will. There is no attitude of hostility or sorrow within Him towards this crowd, which magnifies His suffering. He treats every human being as an individual. His suffering is a lesson. It is a living Word, which passes through the crowd of people, healing those who have opened their hearts. For that reason, give Me your sorrow. Let your suffering also be a lesson to others.

Our Father …
Hail Mary …
Glory be …
Have mercy on us, O Lord.
Have mercy on us.

Station IX

JESUS FALLS THE THIRD TIME

Way of the Cross - Station 9

We adore You, O Christ and we bless You, because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

The third fall of Jesus is at the limit of what is humanly possible. without the help of God, man will be unable to realize God’s work, even if he was the most perfect of men. My works always surpass the one who has to carry them out, so that he would not be able to fulfill them without Me. Jesus surrenders to this fall, so that no one would exalt himself above God, thinking that he will be able to achieve his goal by human means.

Our Father …
Hail Mary …
Glory be …
Have mercy on us, O Lord.
Have mercy on us.

Station X

JESUS IS STRIPPED OF HIS CLOTHES

Way of the Cross - Station 10

We adore You, O Christ and we bless You, because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

Denudation, the stripping from clothes, honor, and dignity. Only I alone know the value of man. Man remains naked in the face of truth. Do not become attached to things that the world can take away from you. Your true worthiness lies in what remains after your possessions, titles, and worldly honors are taken away from you. Who are you without all that? Does the awareness of possessing My grace and being My child not give you joy above all that?

Our Father …
Hail Mary …
Glory be …
Have mercy on us, O Lord.
Have mercy on us.

Station XI

JESUS IS NAILED TO THE CROSS

Way of the Cross - Station 11

We adore You, O Christ and we bless You, because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

Suffering and lack of strength overwhelm the body of Jesus, but His Spirit remains free. Through His prayer, He raises in the Spirit towards Heaven. He treats His body as a foothold from which the Spirit rebound in order to soar towards Heaven. If the spirit of man is united with Me, suffering can not break it. Then the suffering sanctifies and transforms the soul. The more you suffer, the more fervently you should pray, and never lose hope that I will hear you out.

Our Father …
Hail Mary …
Glory be …
Have mercy on us, O Lord.
Have mercy on us.

Station 12

JESUS DIES ON THE CROSS

Way of the Cross - Station 12

We adore You, O Christ and we bless You, because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

The death of Jesus brings release to His tortured body and His tormented Soul. The world seen from the perspective of the cross seems to be an immensity of evil, yet the dying Jesus blesses it and leaves there His Mother. Mary takes over this heavy burden. She remains to cry over the death of God in the name of the Earth, and She will cry until the Earth will be cleansed by her tears.

Our Father …
Hail Mary …
Glory be …
Have mercy on us, O Lord.
Have mercy on us.

Station 13

JESUS IS TAKEN DOWN FROM THE CROSS

Way of the Cross - Station 13

We adore You, O Christ and we bless You, because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

Sometimes a situation appears to be hopeless. Such is the case under the cross after the death of Jesus. There is nothing worse than the death of hope, and Jesus is the hope of mankind. IN moments full of pain, remember that I have left you a Mother for this time. She is the hope of mankind, when God is being taken down from the cross and laid into the tomb. By kissing the place where the cross stood, She reminds the world about the existence of God. By crying over His tomb, She is waiting for Resurrection, and God can not fail such hope.

Our Father …
Hail Mary …
Glory be …
Have mercy on us, O Lord.
Have mercy on us.

Station 14

JESUS IS LAID IN THE TOMB

Way of the Cross - Station 14

We adore You, O Christ and we bless You, because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

Remember that the tomb is not the end of your life or your destiny. Do not look at graves as the place of eternal rest of your loved ones. Look at them as you look at the tomb of Jesus. Come with the hope that you will see the resurrection of your loved ones and you will rejoice with the joy of their glorified bodies, free from suffering. May your tears not conceal the sight of the One who has resurrected. After all, He has resurrected as the first one, and this means that all those who have died will resurrect. Just pray for it to be a resurrection to eternal life in the glory of the saved. Amen.

Our Father …
Hail Mary …
Glory be …
Have mercy on us, O Lord.
Have mercy on us.
