FIRST SIN – PRIDE

DAY 2: FIRST SIN – PRIDE

Day 2 - First Sin Pride

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit,
Spirit of Love of the Father and of the Son,
grant me Your love.
I give You my mind and heart,
so that You would fill me with Your wisdom.
Tear me away from amidst the futility of the world
and lead me into Your hidden chambers,
in which I will forget about the world,
in order to get to know Your mysteries.
Let me rest at Your feet
and listen with anointment to Your whisper.
Fill me with faith so I would not doubt
that the words, which [I read],
come from the mouth of the Most High,
and with bravery, so I would carry them courageously
to the whole world. Amen.

Contemplation of the Holy Scriptures before the conference of the day  – 30 minutes

Job 15, 7-16; 38, 3-38; 40, 2-5

You are haughty
7 Are you the first man who was born, or were you formed before the hills?
8 Have you heard the intentions of God, and will his wisdom be inferior to you?
9 What do you know, about which we are ignorant? What do you understand that we do not know?
10 There are with us both aged and ancient men, even more senior than your fathers.
Everyone sins
11 Is it so important that God should console you? But your own depraved words prevent this.
12 Why does your heart exalt you, and why do you gaze with your eyes, as if thinking great things?
13 Why does your spirit stir against God, so as to utter such speeches from your mouth?
14 What is man that he should be immaculate, and that he should appear just, having been born of woman?
15 Behold, among His holy ones not one is immutable, and even the heavens are not pure in His sight.
16 How much more abominable and useless is the man who drinks as if from the water of iniquity?
3 Gird your waist like a man. I will question you, and you must answer Me.
Did you help with the creation of the world…
4 Where were you, when I set the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding.
5 Who set its measurements, if you know, or who stretched a line over it?
6 Upon what have its bases been grounded, and who set forth its cornerstone,
7 when the morning stars praised me together, and all the sons of God made a joyful noise?
… and the creation of the sea?
8 Who enclosed the sea with doors, when it broke forth as if issuing from the womb,
9 when I stationed a cloud as its garment and wrapped it in a mist as if swaddling an infant?
10 I encircled it with my limits, and I positioned its bars and doors.
11 And I said: “This far you will approach, and you will proceed no further, and here you will break your swelling waves.”
Do you give orders to the dawn?
12 Did you, after your birth, command the birth of the sun and show the sunrise its place?
13 And did you hold the extremities of the earth, shaking them, and have you shaken the impious out of it?
14 The seal will be restored like clay, and it will remain in place like a garment.
15 From the impious, the light will be taken away, and the exalted arm will be broken.
Do you know the boundaries of the earth?
16 Have you entered the depths of the sea, and have you taken a walk in the uttermost parts of the abyss?
17 Have the gates of death been opened to you, and have you seen the doors of darkness?
18 Have you considered the breadth of the earth? If you know all things, reveal them to Me.
Where resides the light?
19 Which is the way that holds the light, and which is the place of darkness?
20 In this way, you might lead each thing to its final place, and understand the paths of its house.
21 So then, did you know when you were to be born? And did you know the number of your days?
Do you know the heavenly storehouses?
22 Have you been admitted into the storehouses of the snows, and have you gazed upon the stockpile of the brimstone,
23 which I have prepared for the time of the enemy, for the day of the battle and the war?
24 In what way is the light scattered, and the heat distributed, over the earth?
And the beginning of rain?
25 Who gave a course to the rainstorms, and a path to the resounding thunder,
26 so that it would rain on the earth far from man, in the wilderness where no mortal lingers,
27 so that it would fill impassable and desolate places, and would bring forth green plants?
28 Who is the father of rain, or who conceived the drops of dew?
29 From whose womb did the ice proceed, and who created the frost from the air?
30 The waters are hardened to become like stone, and the surface of the abyss freezes over.
Do you rule over the stars and the weather?
31 Will you have the strength to join together the sparkling stars of the Pleiades, or are you able to disperse the circling of Arcturus?
32 Can you bring forth the morning star, in its time, and make the evening star rise over the sons of the earth?
33 Do you know the order of heaven, and can you explain its rules here on the earth?
34 Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, so that an onslaught of waters will cover you?
35 Can you send forth lightning bolts, and will they go, and on returning, say to you: “Here we are?”
36 Who placed discernment in the guts of man, or who gave the rooster intelligence?
37 Who can describe the rules of the heavens, or who can put to rest the harmony of heaven?
38 When was the dust cast to become the earth, and when were its clods fastened together?
Question directed to Job
2 “Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? Let him who accuses God answer him!”
The humble answer of Job
3 Then Job answered the Lord:
4 “I am unworthy—how can I reply to You? I put my hand over my mouth.
5 I spoke once, but I have no answer— twice, but I will say no more.”

TEACHING: First sin – pride

Meditation about the conference – 60 minutes

7.02.2018

Lord Jesus:  Write my words. The first sin. The greatest, the most common and the most widespread sin of priests is pride. Moreover, it is also the source of all other sins. When I was creating mankind from nothing, I conferred dignity and rights upon it. The priesthood is the highest human dignity, but it is not above the law. The angel that I exalted fell down. This is also the case with the priests to whom I gave the most. Instead of showing Me more and more gratitude, they forget about Me, staring more and more at themselves. The more they stare at themselves, the less they see Me. And so, instead of diminishing themselves, so that I may become bigger and bigger in their hearts, they feed their ego, and push Me into a further and deeper corner of their heart, until finally they throw Me out of it completely. For there is no place for two kings in one kingdom and sooner or later one of them must die. The priest either kills himself, giving himself up as a sacrifice together with Me, or he kills Me, becoming My executioner.

Now look carefully at yourself. Let Me examine your heart. How far did you progress on My path? Consider if you perceive the danger of this sin within you? Do you ask Me for My opinion before you make a decision? Do you try to act in everything as I would act? Do you ask Me for help? Do you ask persistently and humbly? Are you able to accept My inspirations if they are not after your thoughts? Are you able to accept remarks on your own topic with love? Do you consider their rightness before you reject them? Do you wonder what you should improve in yourself? Is the advice of those who love you valuable to you? Is it possible that you are wrong about an issue and others are right? At last, is it possible that those who irritate you are on a higher level of holiness than you? Do you allow the thought that the mistakes of others are a lesson in humility and patience for you? Do you understand that your mistake reveals the truth about you? Do you need My help to convert? Do you need conversion? If you do not perceive sin in yourself, you are already a great saint or a great sinner. Humility always chooses the second option.

Nurturing and developing the virtue of humility in oneself is the most important thing in the fight against the sin of pride. You should fight it, humbling yourself in spirit before Me. After all, man is only dust and ashes. All the rest is My and exclusively My grace. Your family is My grace. The values, faith, and tradition that you have derived from it are My mercy. The Church and the nation in which you were born are My work. Your abilities, from inborn traits to the acquired ones, are also My grace and My guidance. I have prepared you for the work I desire to carry out through you. Not that I do not have anyone better, because I can create who I want and whenever I want. Only and solely because I love you and I desire to give you a place in My Kingdom; but to be able to do this, I have to share My work with you. For only the heirs inherit the Kingdom. You must accept My grace to be able to garner undeserved merits. For with what have you deserved My grace, not existing? How did you deserve to be created by Me? Now, I want you to realize that the worst sinner consists of the same dust and ash as you. If you are not in his place, it is only so that you would pray for him and help him rise. On that account, I have protected you from many sins, but not from all, because then you would have become proud like the son of perdition himself. Human frailty caused by the original sin is to protect man against the devil. Although this seems to be a contradiction, it is a truth to which you have not yet come to.

Consider today in your heart how thin the line between holiness and sin is. How poor and weak the vessel, into which I pour My Divine grace.

Contemplation of the Holy Scriptures after the conference of the day – 45 minutes

Psalm 131 (130)

  1. O Lord, my heart has not been exalted, and my eyes have not been raised up. Neither have I walked in greatness, nor in wonders beyond me.
  2. When I was not humble in thought, then I lifted up my soul. Like one who has been weaned from his mother, so was I recompensed in my soul.
  3. Let Israel hope in the Lord, from this time forward and even forever!
