Ps. LXVII

Fancy letter Exsurgat Deus * et dissipentur inimici ejus:
et fugiant qui oderunt eum * a facie ejus.
Sicut deficit fumus, * deficiant:
sicut fluit cera a facie ignis, * sic pereant peccatores a facie Dei.

Ps. XXXIV

Fancy letter Judica, Domine, nocentes me: * expugna impugnantes me.
Confundantur et revereantur * quærentes animam meam.
Avertantur retrorsum et confundantur * cogitantes mihi mala.
Fiat tamquam pulvis ante faciem venti: * et angelus Domini coarctans eos.
Fiat viæ illorum tenebrae, et lubricum: * et angelus Domini persequens eos.
Quoniam gratis absconderunt mihi interitum laquei sui: * supervacue exprobraverunt animam meam.
Veniat illi laqueus quem ignorat; et captio quam anscondit, * apprehendat eum: et in laqueum cadat in ipsum.
Anima autem meam exsultabit in Domino: * et delectabitur super salutari suo.

Afterward, the priest, holding both tablets of the 10 commandments of God, ascends the steps of the Altar. THE People stand. The priest, facing the people, rises the tablets and says:

Behold the Law of God, the Wisdom of God, which infinitely surpasses human reason.

The people kneel and bow with the face to the ground. The priest lifts the tablets up for a second time and says:

Behold the Law of God, the Will of God, revealed to us for our Salvation.

The people AGAIN BOW WITH THE FACE TO THE GROUND. THE PRIEST LIFTS THE TABLETS UP FOR A THIRD TIME AND Says:

Behold the Law of God, the commandments, which we have to observe with love.

The people bow with the face towards the ground for a third time. The priest lowers the tablets and asks the people while holding them in his hands:

V.  Do you want this Law of God, whose commandments are written on tablets, to be written in your heart?

R.  I want.

V.  Do you commit to exalt these tablets in your home by hanging them on the wall?

R.  Yes.

V.  Do you commit to getting to know God’s current teaching of these commandments and observe them in your home?

R.  Yes.

Now the people repeat the words after the priest:

V:  God the Father, * who created me * and gave me Your Law, * so through a safe path * I may attain eternally viewing Your glory, * accept today my will * to surrender without reservation * to Your Law * and to obey all Your commandments * by me. * I commit * to read Your Law every day * and measure it up to my behavior. * I want to observe Your Law * with all my strength * and with all my heart, * with my mind, heart, and will. * I will make every effort, * to ensure that this holy Law * is observed in my family, * in my home, * and wherever I will appear * and where extends my authority. * Bless me, * so I would keep my promise * and fulfill with courage * Your commandments * until the end of my days. * Amen.

Then, the priest blesses the kneeling people in the name of God. Holding the tablets of the 10 commandments of God in his hands, he says:

V.  In the name of God One in the Trinity: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit: Let the power of God descend upon you, so you may boldly observe the Law of God.

R.  Amen.

V.  Let your hearts be pure and righteous, so you may be agreeable in the eyes of God and find His grace.

R.  Amen.

V.  Let God give you strength, so you would jealously fight for the obedience to His law around you.

R.  Amen.

V.  Let God ignite in you a passionate love for His Law.

R.  Amen.

The priest holding up the tablets of the 10 commandments of God makes three times the sign of the holy Cross above the people.

V.  On this path of truth and fight for the Law of God, may God the Father, the Son of God and the Holy Spirit bless you.

R.  Amen.

The people rise. The priest personally hands over the tablets of the Law of God to the participants of the ritual. The head of the family or another present member of the family receives the tablets in the name of the entire family.

V.  I entrust to you the Law of the Highest God. Guard it with all your strength in your heart and in your family.

R.  Amen.
