ake an atonement cover of pure gold—two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide. And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover. Make one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends. The cherubim are to have their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the cover. Place the cover on top of the ark and put in the ark the tablets of the covenant law that I will give you.

4. The heart of the Temple – the Tabernacle

God the Father: Today I want to speak about the heart of My sanctuary, about the Tabernacle. The prototype of the Tabernacle in the Old Testament is the Ark of the Covenant. It was made so that the Tablets of Testimony could be deposited in it, as the most holy item, a place from which I would speak to Moses. My presence in this place was spiritual, whereas in the Tabernacle I am truly present in My Son under the form of the Eucharistic Bread.
The Ark of the Covenant, as the first Tabernacle still awaiting, not yet filled with the living God in Body and Blood, was supposed to prepare the people to receive the proper Tabernacle, in which I will truly dwell. That is why it was made of gold and decorated with cherubs that were to remind of My glory and honor, of which I am worthy constantly and always in perpetual adoration. The adoration, which lasts uninterruptedly in Heaven, has been shown to you precisely through the cherubim, whose humility and seriousness you should imitate while abiding in My Presence. Only the priests could approach the Ark and only they could touch it. Also, particular people devoted to My service, the Levites, were called to carry it. The Ark of the Covenant was a visible sign of My presence among the Israelites, their pride and blessing, thanks to which they were sure of their victory over enemies.
The Tabernacle is My Most Holy Place in My temples. I do not dwell in it symbolically or spiritually, but in real terms, in the same way as I dwell in Heaven. One can say that I am touching its walls, so it should be made with the greatest care. Gold is the noblest material that I have given you. I do not require that every Tabernacle were made of gold, but I require it to be the most beautiful that you can afford. It is unimaginable that the floor upon which you walk or the benches in which you sit were more beautiful, expensive and made with greater care than the Tabernacle, which is the heart of the Church. And often there is not enough money precisely for the Tabernacle; it is made at the end and with savings that derogate Me. The entire temple is a place surrounding the Tabernacle. The raison d’être of its existence is precisely to surround and secure the Most Holy Place, in which I dwell Myself.
Only in the background are the other functions of the building, such as a place of gathering for the faithful and their protection from changing weather conditions. Each temple should be designed starting with the Tabernacle and the Altar, as the hearts of the temple. All the rest is an addition. The Tabernacle should be separated from the faithful in such a way so that no one without a vocation could enter the presbytery or pass through it to the sacristy, as if it were an ordinary place. The sacristy is a place of preparation for the celebration of the most holy mysteries, not for dealing with the faithful. Persons without vocations should not spend time in the sacristy. There should be a separate place for meetings with the faithful. The removal of balustrades protecting the Most Holy Place is like the removal of guards from before the door of the royal chamber. It would mean that the king has departed and the castle is abandoned, or that no one respects him anymore and does not consider him to be king, and the guard has betrayed him. Think about how much I am being betrayed. I bless you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
