INTRODUCTION
Dear Spouses, behold, today God wants to call you anew inside the dimension of His love, which he poured into you on the day of your holy Sacrament of Marriage. This very gift of God’s love given to you by God Himself dwells within you and it did not get devalued. It only got covered by selfish and worldly concepts of marriage itself that are barren of life in God.
God, in his assessment towards modern spouses, deplores about the state of today’s marriages because they (spouses) have rejected and do not value the great grace of this sacrament. Marriage is a holy sacrament that joins two people with an inseparable bond into one family. It is a vocation for a whole life. This sacrament transcends what is human, establishing bonds of two persons that are supernatural in power and importance. This marital state is especially beloved by God.
Nowadays, when even the Catholic Church has impoverished its understanding of its supernaturality, God, in the gift of his Word and as the Word, comes to Earth in order to show from anew the supernatural nature of marriage and to draw out from hiding this gift of love given to you on the day of the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony. Hence God comes to you today in the mystery of His grace to renew your marriages through His Spirit. He puts four conditions for this renewal to succeed:
- The hearts of the spouses must be pure.
- Total forgiveness.
- Unconditional submission to God’s vison for our personal lives.
- Unconditional submission to God’s vison for our married lives.
If you meet these requirements, God will once again grasp your hands and enter into your marriage personally, in midst of you, so that you may feel that there is love in your marriage, that it is not true – that love has died, and what is more interesting, that it is as great as God Himself, for God is Love. By renewing your marital promises in full consciousness and with all your heart you will begin a new life, for the grace of God will renew and enable you to a perfect love.
God desires, through the gift of these matrimonial retreats, to come to you Himself from Heaven as a balm of love: to heal your old wounds, to renew in you – spouses, the desire to love and to life in a spirit of gratitude toward your spouse.
Behold, you are receiving from God, beloved spouses, His table of grace. It is filled up. Do not be afraid to encounter the Word of God. This is the Living God among you. Do not be afraid of life for [Jesus’s] love, for this Love it is worth living a life. Do not be afraid to journey out into the depths. God really is Love. We are blind egoists looking at ourselves. I invite you on this journey after the word of God. You will not lose anything, but you will receive so much.
