As in those days, two thousand years ago, Lord Jesus had pity for every soul and bestowed His graces upon all who had an open heart. He wants to do the same today, only the arena has changed from Palestine to the parish church. However, the type of disbelief has also changed. God continues to be present with us and among us. We have become accustomed to dwell in His presence, and it does not impress us because we have lost faith.

INTRODUCTION
In the face of the enormity of human suffering, we sometimes stand helpless and terrified. New diseases of civilization both in the plane of the body and of the spirit devour our society. However, Saint Matthew reminds us of words of Isaiah that are full of hope: He took on our infirmities, and carried our diseases (Mt 8: 17). And people brought to Him all who were sick, those afflicted with various diseases, those suffering acute pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed— and He healed them (Mt 4:24).
The service of healing and deliverance that we need is the faith in Jesus Christ truly present in the Blessed Sacrament and the Holy Communion, when through the communion and union of man with God, Jesus generously pours out graces.
